An efficient vocational and technical education system can play an important role in raising quality of work, enhancing productivity and tackling the mismatching problem. In order to increase employment rates and competitiveness in the knowledge based economy, education and training systems should be more consistent with employment policies.
Close relationship between vocational education and industry is a basic requirement for innovation and increased competitiveness.
Investment to VET and revising key vet strategies and exploring and improving the imperfect parts in national Vocational education approaches through comparing key strategies would be an urgent aid pack to recover from crisis. In this project we will analyze and evaluate how national vocational training strategies are determined and how vocational training is adapted to use of new technologies in accordance to needs and development of labour market. We will accomplish the preliminary works to fulfill transfer the good practices and policies among partner countries reciprocally as follows:
- Investigate and exploit of best practices in VET key strategies National, regional and sectoral levels by means of two reports
- Prepare a VET Network to share and discuss the problems and solutions; such as projects in European level and produce new VET strategies
- And disseminate the all these project's experience via a conference.
Thanks to this project, policy makers, practitioners and Vet teachers and experts will meet in a platform in the web site and see their expectations and revise their VET agenda again in Europe.

In November 2009, the Kick-Off meeting of KEYNET project took place in Istanbul. Our hosting organization, Bahçesehir University, presented the project as well as project partners. Bahçesehir University is a private foundation university: it is among the leading universities of the world. Human rights and freedom are essential elements. The university comprises of six faculties and 2 institutions: natural and social science. The university has a vocational school, too. The challenge for VET is that the labour force is producing more efficient qualified goods and services and we need qualified work force for that, also called strategic workforce. Bahçeşehir University has established METGEM (Development Centre for Vocational Technical Education), which is a unique institution in Turkey. CINOP is a consultancy firm and expertise centre in the sectors General and Further Education, Vocational Education and Training, (VET), Education and VET research, ICT and e-learning, business management training and capacity building. Frohsinn is an Education and cultural association founded in 1996. The organisation is non-party and non-profit concerned with education and training, dialogue between cultures and support for further integration. |
